Professor Chris Hyde is co-lead for the Commercialisation and Capacity theme, he is an international expert in health technology assessment, specialising in meta-analysis and health economic modelling. Chris has particular interest in diagnostics and methodology. As Co-Lead for Commercialisation and Capacity, he has worked extensively with NICE and the National Screening Committee. He has directed two TAR groups (WMHTAC 2007-2009 and PenTAG 2010-2018) and currently leads the Exeter Test Group. He has also provided expert advice to the MHRA on diagnostics and worked closely with the RDUH on diabetes research.
Chris has a strong commitment to education and training. He also supports industry collaborations, particularly Skin Analytics the developer of an artificial intelligence system triaging suspected skin cancers. Outside of his professional life, he is passionate about sustainability, open-water swimming, singing, allotmenteering, and pottery.
